Archbishop of Melanesia

The Archbishop of Melanesia and Bishop of Central Melanesia is the Most Reverend Sir Ellison Pogo, KBE. He is the fourth Archbishop of Melanesia, following Amos Waiaru, who followed Norman Palmer, who followed John Wallace Chisholm.

Sir Ellison is currently the senior primate of the Anglican Communion, the chairman of the design group of the 2008 Lambeth Conference, the Chairman of Pacific Theological College. He is also the only Anglican primate to have been knighted for his work for peace during the ethnic tensions during the first years of the 21st century. The Archbishop of Canterbury has awarded him the medal of the Order of Saint Augustine, received in October 2008.

He is married to Roslyn and has three grown children.
