Jean-Michel Caradec'h

Jean-Michel Caradec'h (born March 22, 1950) is a French journalist and writer. He is the author of several books in association with personalities of show business, sports, and civil life. The originality of his style and the variety of the handled subjects are a direct continuation of its activity of journalist.

Biography

After study of clinical Psychology (masters), in Paris 7 university, Jean-Michel Caradec'h was senior reporter during more than 25 years. He begins his career in 1974, in the debuts of the daily newspaper Liberation. In 1979, he contributed to the creation of the short-lived Paris-Hebdo, a city magazine launched in Paris by Jean-Louis Servan-Schreiber, before joining in 1880, the editorial staff of "Paris Match" steered then by Roger Therond. He covers for this magazine, society, big news items (Gregory affair), and various conflicts worldwide (War in Lebanon, El Salvador, Chad, War Iran and Iraq). He was a prize winner of the Albert Londres award in 1984 for his reports on Salvadoran guerrilla warfare. In 1987, he was in charge of "cover-story" to the service "Investigation" of L'Express where he realizes some scoop (Sales of weapons in Iraq; fusée Ariane sabotages; Taking of hostages of Ouvéa; Greenpeace:"Raimbow Warrior" affair, French Doctors story). He is the only reporter admitted beside the French Foreign Legion (Operation Daguet) in the invasion of Iraq during the operation Desert Storm. In 1992, he was named chief editor of VSD magazine) in charge of the service "Society/Investigation". Then in 1996, Chief editor in L'Evénement du Jeudi steered by Jean-François Kahn. After the disappearance of the title in 1999, he dedicates himself to writing for various editorial houses, signed or anonymous works. He is also the author of an inquiry, authoritative, on the accident of Princess Diana (Documentary for Channel 4 TV) and two original scenarios: "Josephine" and "Marie-Antoinette" realized by Gallery TV for French-speaking television.
