Bob Krause

Bob Krause is currently the athletic director at Kansas State University. He was hired on June 6, 2008 to replace the departed Tim Weiser who left to become the deputy director of the Big 12 Conference. Krause is the 14th athletic director at Kansas State. Before his tenure at Kansas State, Krause was the director of student affairs in the Minnesota State system. Krause came to K-State from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, where he served as director of student affairs from 1983 to 1986. While there, he coordinated system-wide policy and program development for seven state universities enrolling more than 51,000 students. From 1975 to 1983, he served as vice president for student affairs at Southwest State University in Minnesota. Krause received his bachelor's degree in art education and art from Western Illinois University in 1967 and his master's in college student personnel work from Michigan State University in 1968. Krause is married to Dr. Marty Vanier. He has three daughters, Katie and Kirsten, both graduates of K-State, and Kathy, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
