Cabramatta by-election, 2008

Cabramatta by-election, 2008

A by-election will be held for the New South Wales Legislative Assembly seat of Cabramatta on 18 October to coincide with the Port Macquarie, Lakemba and Ryde by-elections. The Cabramatta by-election was triggered by the resignation of former Health Minister Reba Meagher, after a spectacular series of events that saw both the Deputy Premier and the Premier resign.

At the 2007 New South Wales election, The Labor Party held Cabramatta by a margin of 31.4, its second safest seat. [cite web
