*In August 2008, it was announced that Fiona Phillips will also quit as a main host on GMTV, in December. She has been working on GMTV for nearly 16 years. At its launch in 1993, she was the Entertainment correspondent, then in 1996 she was promoted to the main female host. Her reason for leaving is so that she can spend more time with her two young children and elderly father. [http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/aug/29/itv.television] It was announced in September 2008 that favourite to replace Fiona Phillips, Myleen Klass, turned down the offer to appear.
