Anise of Flavigny

Anise of Flavigny is a candy from Flavigny-sur-Ozerain in Burgundy

Each candy is made of aniseed coated with sugar syrup infused with different flavorings: anise, violet, rose, mint, jasmine, liquorice, orange… etc

They were first made by the Benedictines in 719, by using anise brought by the Roman traveller Flavius.

After the French revolution, many confectioners, also made this delicacy according to the original recipe. Today, only one company manufactures this candy.
