Swainson Island

Swainson Island is an island, with an adjacent islet, with a combined area of 4.14 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Swainson Island Group, lying close to the southern end of the western coast of Tasmania. Fauna

Recorded breeding seabird and wader species are the Little Penguin (100 pairs), Short-tailed Shearwater (38,000 pairs), Fairy Prion (3000 pairs), Pacific Gull and Sooty Oystercatcher. The Tasmanian Tree Skink is present.
