Vardan Mamikonian (musician)

Vardan Mamikonian is an Armenian pianist, and a naturalised French citizen.

He was trained at the Moscow Conservatory under Valery Kastelsky. He settled in Paris after he won the 1990 Lefébure Competition in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. This success allowed him to take part at the 1992 World Music Masters in Montecarlo, which he won too. A collaborator with Henri Dutilleux, Mamikonian has been internationally active as a concert pianist since, and has recorded several CDs for the Calliope and Orfeo labels.
