- The finger of God is here
"The finger of God is here" or "Digitus Dei est hic", from the Latin, is a quote from the Bible - Exodus 8:19. These words are proclaimed by the magicians of Pharaoh who, after being beaten in a contest between themselves and Moses, state that their powers are not equal to those of God. Saint Augustine, later on, testifies that he believes the expression to pertain to the Holy Spirit. He gives many examples of the Apostles using the expression to refer to the Holy Spirit.
