"The Ziegfeld Follies of 1936" is a musical revue of that year with lyrics by
Ira Gershwin , music byVernon Duke and sketches by Gershwin andDavid Freedman ; the original orchestration was byRobert Russell Bennett , Conrad Sallinger, Hans Spialek and Don Walker. It opened at the Winter Garden on January 30th "under the protection of the Messrs. Shubert."
