Yasuhiro Morinaga

Yasuhiro Morinaga is a sound designer and researcher based in Tokyo.

His primary approach is based on the formation and deformation of coexistent community throughout natural and concrete environment.

Morinaga's sound design works for film have been screened at various international film festivals and has worked on a variety of projects including theatre, contemporary dance and installations. Morinaga's eclectic and distinctive approach toward designing sound doesn't conform to the conventional style.

He has been undertaking a Ph.D in Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts focusing on the aesthetics of sound design and involved as a special researcher for GCOE program [Film and Theatre Studies] at Waseda University. He is also pursuing ongoing field recording project around Asia focusing on the impact of natural and concrete environmental sounds.
