"'Karen Carreño modeling career began very spontaneously. she was in a coffe shop with some friends, when she was approached and invited to a fashion show. she didn't know what she was getting into since she had no previous experienceas a model. The model that had extended the invitation to her assured her that she would be perfect for the job and that he will guide her through the process.During this fifrst fashion show, the world of modeling opened up to her. She met a lot of people and began working catalogues and magazines. She was only 15 years when all of this started.Among her first jobs, she dod local catalogues and campaings in Bogota. She participated in several competitions, Elite Model in 1999 and Chica Med in 2000, where she was chosen internationally - gained her first contract in Mexico City. Her first agent in Mexico City was Glenda Models, where she worked for 4 years.After her first contract in Mexico City, she continued with fashion shows,magazines,television commercials, videos, magazine covers, and editorials.She always participated in Mexico's Fashion WEeek with important designers, including Marte Riestra, Julio, Hector Terrones, and others. She continued doing editorials with important magazine like Veintitantos, Maxim, Kena, Nupcias, H Magazine, where she is still working till this day She also did television commercials for Coca Cola, Banamex, and music videos for Juanes (A Dios le Pido).The clients that she had, and still continue to work with today, allowed her to become one of the better Colombian models in Mexico.After a Several of years in Mexico City, she went to the Miami Fashion Week, where she met the director of Wilhelmina and was offered a contract in New York. While she was in Miami, she also did a casting for a JLo campaing and was chosen. It was at this moment that she decided to move from MexicoCity to New York.Her work was allowed to travel to man great places. She worked in Mexico, United States, France, Italy, Germany and India.
