Radio
Matt is a young radio broadcaster... he started his career from the New Zealand Radio Training School and went onto working nights for Coromandel FM, 10-2pm The Breeze Whitianga and than a 6 month stint as breakfast co-host for Port FM in Ashburton. This made Matt one of the yongest breakfast announcers in the world at only 19 years of age.
Matt was renowned for inventing and running great promotions and being open to 'anything'. Examples of this includes giving himself away for 3 dates as a radio prize, one of these dates was with a middle aged women whom was later revealed to be a member of multiple swingers clubs- she didn't return after her date with Matt, that night causing a breakout of rumours.
This promotional experience set Matt up nicely for his next career move to Southland, Matt is now working as the promotions manager for Mediaworks Southland and in-particular The Edge & The Rock. He is known for his witty humour and as a local MC both for community and bar events.
Television
Matt's side-projects to radio include presenting an entertainment interview style YouTube programme which streams online, there are eventual plans to turn this into a separate entertainment resourceful website... Matt and special guests travel New Zealand, visiting all major music festivals and events, the videos usually stream between 4–6 minutes in length and involve both local and international artists. Matt's debut in television was an advertisement recorded as part of a competition run by C4TV, Matt entered the competition which involved writing a story about drink-driving and how its affected you, Matt later confessed while on-air to making up this story during a boring computer lesson and being shocked to winning the main prize, the only catch-Matt was to take part in an advertising campaign which essentially involved telling the story or lying to the nation. Other experiences with television have included 15 September 2008 when Matt was special guest on C4's Vodafone Select Live as part of his campaign to be the Voice of the People.
Vodafone Voice of the People
Matt was only runner-up in the eventual campaign, although did acknowledge the publicity as being his main reason for entering Vodafones people of the nation promotion, which would have meant Matt presenting the people's choice award at the NZ Music Awards in 2008. According to an interview with Vito Magazine, Matt stated it was the loss of the country whom will have to wait another year to see somebody outshine Dai Henwood (Presenter of the awards) and instead could expect a simple plain performance from the winner.
