Jarmo Viteli

Jarmo Viteli is a finnish academic, and researcher best known for being professor at the University of Tampere and director of Hypermedia Lab. He speaks about digital media, e-learning and social media. Viteli was the leader or national eTampere program in 2001-2005. He has been one of the first academics to combine social media into the research and education in Finland.

Biography

Viteli lives in Hämeenlinna with her wife and children. He has earlier worked with Unesco in Namibia to improve the local information society. Nowadays he works as the evaluator when European Union decides which projects to fund. He has evaluated projects for example with the theme Technology Enhanced Learning. He has been interested in computers since [1981] .

He also manages two national conferences MindTrek and [http://www.hameenkesayliopisto.fi/itk/english/index_en.html Interactive Technology in Education] .

When off duty, Viteli sings in a band called Digiveikot.
