- Rabbi Shai Specht
= Rabbi Shai Specht (AKA: Reb Shai). Born - August 30, 1973
Rabbi Shai Specht does not "prescribe" to one Jewish movement or another, and draws insight from all. Reb Shai is a Cantor, Composer/Storyteller and Educator based in New York City. He specializes in music for children and family education, Kabbalah and Hazanut. Shai has given workshops and performed all over the country. Reb Shai offers a range of services, from spiritual counseling/healing to teacher workshops, Toddler/caretaker classes, Tot Shabbat to officiating weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvot. Reb Shai has recorded and produced three children's albums. He also recorded an exclusive contemporary adult Jewish album ("Ma Tovu - songs for Shabbat") with Artemis records. Reb Shai 's provocative Dance/Club version of the famous Jewish prayer "Avinu Malkeinu," has raised quite a few eye brows around the world. Reb Shai draws upon many influences, but has a unique energy and appeals to a wide range of audiences, young and old. His understanding and proven abilities, lure one in with a sense of intimacy and excitment. Rabbi Shai comes from a long line of Rabbis (including the Maharal of Prague), Cantors and Educators.
