Zunil is a municipality in the Quetzaltenango department of Guatemala with surface area of 92 sq. km. The population is about 14,000 people, 100% indigenous. The spoken language is K'iche."San Simón" (also known as Maximón) is an old life-sized doll of a Mayan God, sitting in a wooden throne, which changes its house every year.
