- Leutenant Dilber
= History =
In early 1990s, thanks to his collaboration with a French publishing house
Les Humanoïdes Associés , artistBoris Dragojevic launched into the world ofcomic book ; the collaboration ended up after the outbreak of thewar in1991 . For the first time inBelgrade , we saw extracts from the first unfinished series of an alternative comic book [http://www.borisdragojevic.net/Strip/cartoon.html »Leutenant-sailor Dilber«] .That avantgarde comic book is imbued with humour and vision, conjuring up the legacy of
pop-art and, in a rathersatirical manner, predicting the future events in ex-Yugoslavia . Although it has never been published, this comic book remains a rare and most precious artistic achievement of the murky years of last decade.Story
""'Let’s see the introduction and remember
Babylon ""It’s 22nd century.
The Earth was rapidly changing its shape; the snow was melting in the poles. After the modernBalkan wars and battles for territories, a newhuman species was born. People got free fromprejudices andmorals . Their life motto was »All for one, everyone for himself«. There was plenty ofwater , but it was polluted as everything else. With sulphur evaporating, the temperature of the soil was constant, between 30-42oC, a metar above the ground. There were occasional storms, but only one season – suspended autumn. The war-dogs survived theradiation , but found themselves impotent to organize a new life."North from
Dubrovnik , the organized gangs »Croatia Records« were ravaging, and south from Bar, the pirates »Muslims « rytam selection was plundering all around. The quick patrole ships were the only that two sides in war had in common »The people will gild it all«, was the frequent saying of those who did not know what tomorrow would bring. That was the time of Leutenant-sailor Dilber, the last surviver from the helicopter »Nova Varos« .""'text:
