Cynthia Anders

Cynthia Marisol Anders is a fictional character and the sister of the series' protagonist, Kyle Anders, on the series CTA. She is formerly of the United States Secret Service but becomes a Counter Terrorism Agent when the series starts.

Biography

Cynthia Marisol Anders was born on May 12, 1976 to David and Marisol Anders. She is the only sister of her older brother Kyle.

Pre-CTA

Cynthia has worked in the Secret Service since 2000. She became co-leader of a Black Operations unit in 2003 in which she became a government assassin, killing insurgents who kept slipping through the cracks. Cynthia contiunes in that position until late 2008.

Season 1

Cynthia is approached by her brother, CTA Agent Kyle Anders, about a person who she thought she killed. Feeling that she's lost touch with humanity, Cynthia becomes a permanent staple at CTA. Her relationship with Kyle is still on the rocks. She often conflicts with CTA Agent Samantha Chiriqui because she feels that Sam isn't good enough for hers brother's affections. However, she takes a platonic liking to CTA Agent Kenneth Oliver and Medical Examiner Diana Jilton.

Season 2

Cynthia's relationships with Sam and Kyle improve. Cynthia becomes head of the protection detail protecting Kyle from Dakar's sister, Seneca, after Seneca develops a homicidal obesession with him. Cynthia also discovers another mole.

Season 3

Cynthia is dismayed when Kyle decides to go with business as usual rather than pursue the mole.

Season 4

Cynthia finally convinces Kyle that he has to find the mole. She also has to deal with her and Kyle being held hostage at a federal trial in D.C. where she might have to face the possibility of his demise.

Season 5

Cynthia toys with the fact of returning to her previous position with the Secret Service but is convinced not to by Kyle. She also deals with being mistaken for a fugitive in another country and kidnapped and her and Sam along with a criminal alone against a militia. She believes that the mole that Kyle apprehended is not the real one but a decoy.

Season 6

Cynthia deals with an ex-friend and partner's betrayal and a prank caller. She also does her own investigation on who the mole really is while still going her CTA duties. Kyle notices her fatigue and fears she's suffering from a burnout. He alerts the agency's psychologist. This causes tensions between them but later they reconcile. Cynthia gets a lead on the prank caller and needs Kenneth's help. Just then, Sam, Kyle, and Cynthia get a lead on a "dead" terrorist which turns out to be a wild goose chase. Cynthia finally gets Kyle to realize that he's being lied to. As she is saying something involving Dakar and Seneca, she is shot in the head by a unknown sniper.

POST-DEATH

Season 7

Cynthia only appears as a hallucination shared by all the agents and the medical examiner after the event happens then mostly by Kyle in later episodes as he finishes what she started including finding out that Cynthia was the only target of the sniper and that Darien Rakad is the father of Dakar and Seneca.

Season 8

Cynthia appears as a voice on the phone who is killing federal agents, including her replacement Agent Alexander North, by way of a bomb. This drives kyle to kill the rogue agent responsible which leads him to CTA Director Gregory Kincaid as the main mole. Cytnhia appears for the final time to wake Kyle up from unconsciousness before Kincaid kills him.
