Edward Aloysius Kenney was a US Representative from
New Jersey .Edward was born in Clinton, Worcester County, Massachusetts,
August 11 1884 and attended the public schools. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1902, fromWilliams College , Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1906, and from the law department ofNew York University at New York City in 1908. He was admitted to the New York State bar in 1908 and commenced practice in New York City. He moved toCliffside Park ,Bergen County , New Jersey in 1916 and continued the practice of law.During the First World War he served as a member of the legal advisory
draft board of New Jersey in 1917. He was judge of recorders court, Cliffside Park, 1919-1923. He was an unsuccessful candidate formayor of Cliffside Park as an Independent in 1921, as a Republican in 1923, and as a Democrat in 1927.He became chairman of the Cliffside Park Housing Commission in 1922 and 1923 and was a member of the Republican county committee in 1925 and 1926
Kenney was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third, Seventy-fourth, and Seventy-fifth Congresses and served from
March 4 1933 , until his death in Washington, D.C.,January 27 1938 . He is buried in St. John’s Cemetery, Clinton, Massachusetts.
