The Chechen aul (Shalinsky District), on which participated in attack Leo Tolstoy on which impression has written the story "The Raid" where the description of horror and senselessness of war contains. Awtury is located at a foot of Black mountains, on the river Hulhulau. It is located in Shalinsky District, in the east borders on village Kurchaloy, in the southeast with village Geldygen and in the south with village Tsatsan-yurt, in the northwest with village Serzhen-yurt.The village is based at once after that, the plain was left by the Mongolian armies in XIV century. In the village centre there is one of the most esteemed Ziyarat in Chechen republic, a place of a burial place of the sheikh Bamat-Girey Mitaev. Here live the representative numerous Chechen Teips : Yalkhoi, Gunoi , Chermoy , and others.
