Robert Philippe Louis Eugène Ferdinand of Orléans, Duke of Chartres (
9 November 1840 ,Paris -5 December 1910 ,Saint Firmin ) was the son of prince Ferdinand Philippe d'Orléans and thus grandson of kingLouis-Philippe of France . He fought for the Union in theAmerican Civil War , and then for France in the 1870Franco-Prussian War . In 1863 he married his cousinFrançoise d’Orléans (1844–1925) inKingston-on-Thames - she was the daughter of François d’Orléans. In 1886 he was exiled from France.Issue
