Biography

Drakul is an underground Death/Black metal band from the Puget Sound region in Washington State. In 2003, Imperator started to record demo tapes for the band as a solo project after leaving his previous project, Funeral Dominion, back in Plano, Texas. Several poor quality tapes and CD's, which is the usual style for black metal, were distributed by hand to whom ever wanted a copy, and several songs were uploaded on to the internet for critique and promotion.

In 2006, Imperator recruited a guitarist and drummer to the band, making it a three-piece, and since then they have released a demo and continue to write original songs.

Drakul's lyrical theme usually surrounds that of serial killers, psychopaths, and mental illnesses that show the dark side of humanity. A good example are a few references for Ed Gein and Ted Bundy, as well as an upcoming EP about Serial Rapist Fred "Kevin" Coe. Imperator cites Bathory, Sargeist, older Gorgoroth, and the "Of Rape and Vampirism" album by Thokk as some of his musical influences.
