Nandaime is a municipality in the Granada department of Nicaragua.

The patron saints are St. Anne and San Joaquin.

Major League Baseball player Everth Cabrera was born in Nandaime.

What does Nandaime?

The name is originally Nandaime chorotega of voices Arroyo NANDA which means that EMI and the term indicates abundance. Nandaime or Nandaime means "place of abundant streams.

Tradition and Culture Nandaimeña

Local Holidays: July 26, in honor of St. Anne, patron saint of the municipality. Dances: Many are the traditional folk dance rooted in the town, other dances that were practiced during religious festivities in the community are the dance of the bird, the siren and the owl. The running of the bulls a little different than Pamplona in Spain. The Baile of the Devils is the Typical of Nandaime.

The celebrations in Santa Ana, Easter, Christmas and the Immaculate Conception, 7 and 25 Dicember respectively, are the major annual religious activities of the municipality. The Catholic faithful have a parish church, the church of Santa Ana Catholic church has been declared National Historic Monument. The Catholic population also has another small temple, the church of El Calvario.
