Angel Pantoja Medina (Standing Wake)

Angel Pantoja Medina was a 24-year old man from San Juan, Puerto Rico who was found dead on August 15, 2008. After police found his body underneath a bridge, his family fulfilled Angel's last wish to be standing at his own wake. A special embalming fluid was used by Marin Funeral Home to make his wish a reality, funeral home owner Damris Marin told the Associated Press.

Dressed in a Yankees baseball cap and Dolce Gabbana glasses, Angel was mourned by relatives while propped up beside his own coffin in his mother's home.

His brother Carlos said "He wanted to be happy, standing."

The spectacular sight made headlines around the world, and images from his wake enjoyed top billing on Yahoo's "Most Emailed Photos" list for several weeks after they were originally published.

At this time, police are still investigating Medina's death.
