Ladji Doucouré (born
March 28 ,1983 inJuvisy-sur-Orge ) is a French athlete ofMali an andSenegal ese descent. He was a football player and decathlete before specializing inhurdling .He competed in the
Athletics at the 2004 Summer Olympics - Men's 110 metres Hurdles at the2004 Summer Olympics , and finished 8th in the final with a result of 13.76 (he fell just before the finish line). Doucouré won the gold medal at the2005 World Championships in Athletics , beatingLiu Xiang and veteranAllen Johnson . He (together withRonald Pognon ,Eddy De Lépine andLueyi Dovy ) won another gold medal (in the 4×100 m relay).As of August 2005, he has lowered his personal best to 12.97, which is also the national record. He currently ranks second on the
IAAF World Rankings.In Men's 110m Hurdles at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, Doucoure clocked 13.07 seconds to finish just 1 hundredth of a second ahead of China's Liu Xiang, with defending champion Allen Johnson of the USA taking the bronze.
He finished 4th in the final of the 110m hurdles at the
2008 Summer Olympics inBeijing .
