Mourisco (grape)

Mourisco (grape)

Mourisco is a red wine grape found primarily in the Douro DOC and is sometimes used in Port wine production. While not as deeply colored as some Port grape, the Mourisco does have the potential to maintain it coloring as it ages. The grape produces a balanced wine with a firm tannic structure. The vine is prone to having poor flowering in some years. J. Robinson "Vines, Grapes & Wines" pg 217 Mitchell Beazley 1986 ISBN 1857329996 ]
