Victoria Mironova

Victoria Mironova

Victoria Mironova (Evdokimova) is a Russian ballerina.

Victoria was initially taught by an 80 year old teacher from the "Imperial Russian Ballet" (presently known as the Vaganova Ballet Academy). By the age of 11, she had passed the competitive examination and, along with 16 other talented students out of the 600 that were competing for the positions, was enrolled into the Vaganova Ballet Academy There she studied for eight years. In the latter years of her studies she was already taking parts as the prima ballerina in performances at the Mariinsky Theater (formerly Kirov Theater), Everyday there were classes of classical ballet, choreography, music, the history of ballet and the world of dance. Academic courses such as physics, math, history and languages, etc. were taught every day as well.

Having received her Artiste de Ballet Diploma she became a fully-fledged, professional dancer. Victoria Mironova then upgraded her skills at the one year Master Class of Natalia Dudinskaya, People’s Artist of the USSR (the USA awarded her the title “Outstanding Woman of the 20th century”), to become a Principal Dancer. Consequently she had 21 years of professional dance experience with the Mariinsky Theater.

In 1995, after 5 years of university studies, she graduated from the Pedagogical (Teachers’) Department of the Vaganova Academy majoring in teaching choreographic disciplines and choreography (as per the Vaganova syllabus). Since 1991, Victoria Mironova has taught classical ballet, character and historic dances in Russia and Canada. She teaches in English, French and Russian. Presently, she is the Artistic Director, Teacher and Choreographer of The Victoria Ballet Academy in Ontario, Canada.
