Bhaskar Hande

Bhaskar Handé was born in 1957 in Umbraj in the district of Pune, India. He has lived and worked as an artist in The Hague, Netherlands since 1983. [1] Hande began his career in Bombay as a banner painter in 1974. Two years later, Hande attended the Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art. While there, Hande won the Maharashtra Prize twice (in 1979 and 1981). In 1982, Hande began studying at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts. Hande graduated in 1984 with a degree in Monumental Painting & Design. Hande continued his study at Free Academy of Visual Art, also in the Hague. There, he studied animation film and video. Since then, Hande has worked as an fine artist in India and Holland. [2]

Bhaskar Hande has published three books of poems in 1990, 1995 and 2001. Hande's book Your Form is My Creation is his tribute to 17th century Bhakti poet Tukaram.

As of 2006, Bhaskar's work has been exhibited six times between 1999 and 2004 at Blackheath Gallery, London. [3] [2]

Hande has also been involved in Vaishwik Art Environment, a large gallery space that opened on February 6, 2004 in Aundh. [4]
