The Rt Rev Francis Henry Arthur Richmond was the third Bishop of Repton from 1985 to 1999 [ [http://www.derby.anglican.org/about/facts_n_stats.php Derby Bishops] ] ; and from then on an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Oxford. He was born on 6 January 1936 and educated at Trinity College, Dublin [Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black, 2008 ISBN 9780713672576] . Ordained in 1964, he began his career with a curacy at Woodlands, South Yorkshire [Crockford's Clerical Directory2008/2009 Lambeth, Church House Publishing ISBN 9780715110300] after which he was: a Chaplain at Sheffield Cathedral; Vicar of St George's, Sheffield [ [http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/PhotoFrames/WRY/SheffieldStGeorge_1.html Photo of church] ] (during which time he was also a University Chaplain [ [http://www.shef.ac.uk/content/1/c6/06/80/14/1968%20lost%20alumni.pdf 1968 alumni] ] ); and finally, before his elevation to the Episcopate [The Times, Wednesday, Sep 11, 1985; pg. 14; Issue 62239; col E "New bishop of Repton"] , Warden of "Lincoln Theological College". After 14 years as the Derby Suffragan he retired to Oxford in 1999.
