Ripfang

Ripfang was a searat mentioned in the "Redwall" series by Brian Jaques.He and his brother joined the Blue Hordes of Ungatt Trunn in the book "Lord Brocktree."They both started out as lowly soldiers, but through sheer luck, were obth soon elevated to the statuses of "captains."During the battle at the end of the book, Doomeye is slain after an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Lord Brocktree.Ripfang flees and sails off in his ship.

Later, in the next book "Mossflower", Ripfang is seen again, this time older, bigger, and with a massive horde of vermin at his back.He is slain by Boar the Fighter, a badger lord that dies fighting off the numberless horde.

Much arguing has been had over wether or not Ripfang is the same creature in both books, or wether there are two separate searats.Ripfang is portrayed, in both books, as having a long, disfigured canine tooth, that distinguishes him clearly from other vermin.He is also last seen sailing away in "Lord Brocktree", the earlier book. Obviously, Ripfang is the same character in both books.
