Sta Rita Police Office Pampanga PNP

First records of Sta Rita were known in 1697. It was started that Sta. Rita was once a part of the Municipality of Porac. It was formerly a wilderness where gigantic trees grew in abundance. It was first formed by the clearings and settlement made at a place called Gasak, now known as San Isidro, Sta Rita was separated to Porac and became an independent town in 1770. The towns was earlier referred to as Sta. Rita de lele or neighboring Sta. Rita and Sta Rita residents buy their daily commodity needs. Sometimes, between 1904 and 1907 there was an attempt to annex Sta. Rita to Bacolor but due to the intervention of Don Magno Gosioco and Dr. Basilio Ocampo and protest made by concerned citizens the move did not materialize

The first church was located in what is now known as Barangay San Jose. A place called Lacbangan was the old check point of Spanish soldiers during the beginning of the 19th century. Becuran acquired its name from the fact that this Barangay was fenced due to communal farming. STA. RITA was named after its patroness, Sta. Rita de Casia whose festivity is celebrated every 22nd day of May.

The people of Sta. Rita are known to one of the best agriculturist and sturdy farmers in Pampanga particularly in truck gardening. They were the first to adopt the native deep plowing system of furrowing to the dept of more than 12 inches for planting sugarcane points known locally a simberga. Simberga was named after Simeon Vergara, a native of Sta. Rita who first introduced the system. Aside from being one of the best in Agriculture, Sta. Rita during earlier times had the best brass band in Pampanga. It is also famous for its food and confectionary delicacies specially the popular turones de casoy.
