architect of the late20th century . Born inWisconsin , McDonald designed a large number of houses in the greater Milwaukee area. Although the majority of his houses were built in Wisconsin, he also designed many houses in surrounding states, includingMinnesota ,Illinois , andMichigan .Althouth McDonald possessed a very unique sense of style and position when it came to designing houses, he was not very skilled at managing the affordability of his designs. Consequently, many of his designs were never built.
McDonald had many apprentices in his career; the last was Tom Bloczynski of
Marshfield, Wisconsin . Bloczynski remained until McDonald's death in December 2003, and subsequently completed McDonald's unfinished projects.Notes
