- Carlos Carsolio
Carlos Carsolio (born 1962) is Mexico's most successful alpinist. He was the fourth person (and the first non-European) ever to summit all fourteen of the
eight-thousanders . To date, he is the youngest person to achieve this feat.Carsolio climbs in the
alpine style , with no fixed ropes or supplementary oxygen.He is also a trained paraglider and a motivational speaker.
Eight-thousanders climbed
Of these, he climbed the following peaks solo:
* Makalu
* Kangchenjunga
* Cho Oyu (summitted from base camp in 18 hours and 45 minutes, a world record)
* Lhotse (another world record - achieved in 23 hours and 50 minutes)
* Broad Peak (new route - Carsolio became only the fifth man ever to solo a new route on an eight-thousander)
* DhaulagiriDuring his climb of Kangchenjunga, he became the last person to see
Wanda Rutkiewicz alive.External links
