Raveni or Ravení (Greek: Ραβενή) was the ancient city of
Fanoti , part of the kingdom ofThesprotia . It lies on the foothills of the tormented mountain of Mourgana, where many battles of theGreek civil war took place after theSecond World War . The village is more or less surrounded by the snake like river of Thyamis, which forms its delta at the bay of Igoumenitsa.Today Raveni is in the municipality of
Filiates , its 2001 population was 143 for the village.Raveni is the birthplace of the famous
Stathis family (formerly known asMouratis ) which descendants are currently major figures in Greece's economic and commercial life.Population

Raveni is located east of
Igoumenitsa , southwest ofIoannina , northwest of Arta,Athens and Polydroso and north ofPreveza .History
Raveni became a part of
Greece after theBalkan Wars in 1913. AfterWorld War II and theGreek Civil War , its buildings were rebuilt. Raveni became connected with asphalt in the 1960s. More pavement was accessed in the late 20th century. Electricity, radio and automobiles were introduced in the mid-20th century, television in the late-20th century and computer and internet at the turn of the millennium.Points of interests
