Hampshire County Youth Choir

The Hampshire County Youth Choir is a Hampshire choir run by Hampshire Music Service [http://www.hants.gov.uk/education/hms/] . It provides opportunities for young people (aged 14+) to sing a broad range of choral repertoire, usually for SATB. The choir numbers between 40 and 50 singers, and rehearses on a Friday evening, usually in the United Church in Jewry Street, Winchester.

HCYC was founded in 1991 by Keith Smith, who retired from the music service in 1997. The choir is currently directed by Keith Clark, with other members of staff being Martin Riddy, Assistant, and Toby Armstrong and Alice Wratten, Vocal Tutors.

The choir has performed in Winchester Cathedral on several occasions, with other venues including Ribe Cathedral, Denmark, Imperia Cathedral, Italy, and the steps of the British Columbia Parliament Buildings in Victoria, British Columbia. They have also made concert appearances with Dame Emma Kirkby.
