A central reservation system (CRS) is a computerized system that stores and distributes information on a hotel, resort, or other lodging facility. A central reservation system is not to be confused with a Global Distribution System (GDS). Central reservation systems are available exclusively to hotel representation companies, hotels themselves, and CRS providers. Travel Agents do not have access to central reservation systems and instead book via the one global distribution systems.
