single_temperature=~44 K 38628 Huya (pronEng|huːˈjɑː "hoo-YAH,"provisional designation mp|2000 EB|173) is atrans-Neptunian object (TNO). It was discovered in March2000 byIgnacio Ferrin and announced on24 October 2000 . It is classified as aplutino with a 2:3 mean motion resonance with Neptune. It was assigned the nameHuya , after "Juyá," theWayuu rain god, in August 2003 by theInternational Astronomical Union (IAU).ize
At the time of its discovery, Huya was the biggest and brightest TNO yet found. It was found using data collected by at the CIDA Observatory in
Venezuela . It is estimated to be about 530 km in diameter.urface
The object has a red-sloped reflectance spectrum, suggesting a surface rich in organic material such as
tholin s.cite web

Given the long orbit that TNOs have around the sun, Huya comes to opposition in early May of each year at an
apparent magnitude of 19.3.References
