Northwest Territories general election, 1979

The Northwest Territories general election, 1979 was the 14th general election in the Northwest Territories history. The election took place on October 1, 1979.

Twenty Two members were elected to the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly. In 1980 George Braden would become the first Premier of the Northwest Territories since Frederick Haultain in 1905. However he was retro-actively given the title in 1994.
