The 2008 FILA Wrestling World Championships will be held at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. The event will take place from October 11 to October 13, 2008. The competition will only feature wrestling in the Female Freestyle event. Traditionally, Wrestling World Championships are not held in Olympic years, but this year a female championship is being held because the 2008 Summer Olympics includes only four of the seven FILA weight classes for females.
