Biography
Early life and education
Karri Sriram was born in 1973 in Bilaspur,
Madhya Pradesh (now part ofChattisgarh ) to Lakshmi and Arvind Kumar.He was studying in the South Eastern Railway (English Medium) School at Bilaspu, when a national scholarship conducted by the Ministry of Human Resources Development took him to
Daly College , where he finished his schooling. He was selected for the National Defence Academy (88th course, 5th rank in UPSC topper's list for Air Force), but owing to a medical objection, finished his graduation, Bachelors of Arts (History, Economic and Political Sciences), from BVK College,Visakhapatnam .Career
Formerly a journalist, he has worked with "
The Indian Express ", the business publication division of Express Group and "The Deccan Chronicle ". He has been a columnist for "The Hindu "' and currently writes a fortnightly column, "Sedition and Perdition", for "The New Indian Express ". As a journalist, he was among the earliest journalists in India writing on IT, Software, Web, IT Education, and handling the website for a news publication, besides writing on innumerable subjects, predominantly including civic matters, public interest, social trends, political analysis, city life, education and careers, among others.He moved from being a journalist to a corporate career, and has been part of the communications, strategy and branding of leading IT corporates including
