Sui Liaga (born April 25, 1982, Savai'i, Samoa) is a rugby union footballer who plays at both prop and flanker. The speedy and mobile prop is recognisable by his speed strong tackling and is a prime example of the new millennium forward. At 5ft 9in (180cm) he possesses a threatening combination of power, pace and elusiveness that has made him an entertaining player. His running style is unique in that he is exceptionally laid back and never seems to be running flat out, which is deceptive as he incredibly quick. Before his rugby career took off, he attended Rogotai and Mana College playing representative rugby league for Wellington from the ages of 17, 18 and 19 before switching to Rugby Union.He made his debut for the Samoan 7's National team in 2003 before signing with UK rugby club Canterbury Kent(POWERGEN CUP), playing prop and hooker.He made his club debut in the 2004 season of the National Provincial Championship(NPC) in New Zealand, playing for Manawatu (Although it should be noted that he played for the Wellington Lions development club previous Cup in the NPC). The following year 2006 he signed with London Scottish (POWERGEN CUP)2nd development division but had to return to NZ due to family.Sui Liaga is of Samoan/Hawaiian descent and is an up & coming player to watch out for in 2007 and may see him a contender for the Pacific cup
