"City of Fire" is the fifthteenth episode of the Supermarionation TV series Thunderbirds. It was first broadcasted in UK on January 6, 1966. Written by Alan Fennell and Directed by David Elliott.
ynopsis
The world's tallest tower catches fire and International Rescue are called to rescue a family trapped in the basement, and must do so with an experimental cutting gas that knocked Scott and Virgil unconscious in testing.
Plot
The Carter family-Joe, Blanche and their son Tommy, are on their way to the Tomson Tower Maxi-mall that has just opened. They park their car in the parking lot and their way to the monorail station through the access corridors beneath the tower. Shortly, a car crash occurs in the car park causing a wild, raging inferno throughout the parking lot. When the Sprikler system fails, the Alarm sounds, and the two tower control operators begin sealing the basement corridors to prevent the fire's spread. But the Carters are invisible on the surveillance cameras while their corridor is being sealed, trapping them inside.
Meanwhile, on Tracy Island. Scott and Vergil are testing a new welding gas designed by Brains that can cut through steel 10 times faster than a laser. But they collapse during the testing and Brains discovers that gas entered through the skin paws causing them to pass out and that they will Ok.
At tomson tower, the main air vent failes to opperate causing the fire to spread through the entire tower, The tower control men
