Shaykh Ashiq Ilahi Bulandshehri (1343 AH - 1423 AH in the
Islamic calendar or 1925 - 2002 in theGregorian calendar ) was a prolific writer and eminentmuslim scholar of theIndian subcontinent .Shaykh Ashiq Ilahi Bulandshehri was born in 1343 AH in
Bulandshehr ,Uttar Pradesh . After completing his primary education atMadrasa Imdadiyya inMuradabad andJami' Masjid inAligarh , he enrolled atMazahirul Uloom ,Saharanpur , in pursuit of a higher education. After completing his studies, he taught various subjects at madrasas inFerozepur Jhirka andCalcutta and atHayaatul Uloom inMuradabad . He later taught atDarul Uloom Karachi for several years at the request of MuftiMuhammad Shafi , where he assumed responsibility of the fatwa department and taughthadith andtafsir . Shaykh Ashiq Ilahi later moved to Madina, where he spent the last twenty-five years of his life. He was a disciple of Hadhrat Shaykh Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhlawi.His works have been well received in numerous countries. "
Tohfa-e-Khawateen ", "Marne Ke Baad Kya Hōga? ", "Islami Adab ", "Huquq Al-Walidayn ", and "Anwar Al-Bayaan ", a voluminous commentary of the Qur’an, are among the well-known books that he authored. In the field ofhadith , he authored "Zad At-Talibin " and "Al-Fawa’id Al-Saniyya fi Sharh Al-Arba'een Al-Nawawiyya ". As forfiqh , he is the author of "At-Tashil Al-Daruri fi Masa’il Al-Quduri ", as well as dozens of reformative booklets and articles. Shaykh Ashiq Ilahi passed away inMadina at the age of eighty and was buried inJannatul Baqi .
