Ysgol Brynhyfryd is a bilingual co-educational comprehensive school in the town of Ruthin in Denbighshire, North Wales. The school serves the community of Ruthin and the many surrounding villages including the rural districts of Corwen, Carrog and Gwyddelwern. The school currently has 1168 pupils on roll, including 179 in the Sixth Form. Brynhyfryd is a naturally bilingual school which has; in Years 7&8; three Welsh forms: H/Y/C, one Bilingual form: N and four English forms: B/R/F/D. The school is considered as a successful school with 68% of pupils leaving with at least five A*-C GCSE grades due to the last Estyn Inspection Report. The school is due for another inspection in November 2008.

As like most secondary schools in Wales; Ysgol Brynhyfryd offers; for KS3 and KS4; a total of 13 subjects including Welsh(first and second language), English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Information Communication Technology, History, Geography, RE, French, Art, Music, Modern Languages and PE.
