The Rt Rev Mark Allin Hodson was an Anglican Bishop in the latter half of the 20th century ["Obituary-The Right Rev Mark Hodson" The Times Friday, Feb 01, 1985; pg. 14; Issue 62051; col G] Born on 29 December 1907, educated at University College London and ordained in 1931 he began his career with a curacy at St Dunstan , Stepney [ [http://www.stdunstanstepney.org/ Church Web Site] ] after which he was "Missioner" at "St Nicholas Perivale" then Rector of Poplar. In 1955 he was appointed Suffragan Bishop of Taunton ["Ecclesiastical News New Bishop Of Taunton" The Times Tuesday, Nov 08, 1955; pg. 10; Issue 53372; col E] . Translated to Hereford in 1961 [ "Two New Bishops Nominated (News)" The Times Tuesday, Aug 15, 1961; pg. 8; Issue 55160; col C] , he retired in 1973 but continued to serve the church as an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of London until his death on 23 January 1985 [ “Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] .
