footnotes =Paloncha is a small industrial town in the Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh, which is 290 km east of Hyderabad. The Kothagudem Thermal Power station (KTPS), Nava Bharat Ferro Alloys (N.B.F.A), Sponge Iron India Limited(S.I.I.L) are the industries here. There is also a heavy water plant located nearby. The area is endowed with rich forests, industries and landscape. Nearest railway station is at Kothagudem which about 12 km away,it was originally named "Bhadrachalam Road", being the closest railway station to Bhadrachalam, an important pilgrimage location of Rama. It is also famous for its record high temperatures during summer, often crossing 50 Celsius mark.
Education
There are two Engineering Colleges located Palvancha. One is Adams Engineering college which recently introduced masters degree (M.Tech) and the second is one and only Mining college in Andhra Pradesh.
There are so many schools, junior colleges and degree Colleges located in Paloncha.

Bhadrachalam
Which is around 28 km from Paloncha and it is the temple town of Lord Rama.It is a site of pilgrimage for Hindus, is situated on the bank of the river Godavari (southern Ganges).
Papi Hills
It is a lovely place whose scenery resembles the scenery of Kashmir. The beautiful scenery of Papi Hills, the waterfalls at Munivaatam, and the peaceful atmosphere at this tribal area give a pleasant look and peace to visitors, making it a special attraction for tourists. The idol of Shiva under serpent shade was installed in Munivaatam.
Kinnera Sani Project
This Wildlife Sanctuary lying on the Right Bank of the Godavari River forms a part of the Dandakaranya forests in Khammam district. It is situated 12-km from Paloncha, Khammam District. It extends over an area of 635.4-sq-kms It derives its name from the river Kinnerasani, which bisects the sanctuary and ultimately drains into the Godavari River.
Power Station
The Kothagudem “A” Thermal Power Station (60MW × 4 units) is located on the outskirts of Paloncha. Since it started operations in 1966, it has been playing a central role in thermal power generation by APSEB along with the more recently constructed Kothagudem “B” (110MW × 2 units) and “C” (110MW × 2 units) Thermal Power Stations. However, as more than 25 years had passed since the completion, the “A” Power Station had become so decrepit that the output had declined to 50MW/unit.
