Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals

The Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals is an institution for professional certification in the computer engineering and information technology industry. It was founded in 1973. Under the direction of 6 constituent societies and 19 affiliate societies, ICCP actively promotes these standards by offering the only broadly applicable and internationally recognized certification program in the profession.

The ICCP offers two professional designations: Certified Computing Professional (CCP) and Associate Computing Professional (ACP). The ICCP has examinations in areas of expertise of 13 computing specialization and 7 programming languages.

The ICCP has created a separate independently-operated non-profit education foundation. The ICCP Education Foundation offers educational programs and services. The ICCP Education Foundation is actively pursuing the development of a continuously changing Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK).

History

ICCP was founded in 1973 and has dedicated itself to establishing high professional standards in the computer industry. Currently, the program is under the direction of 6 constituent societies and 19 affiliate societies. It is currently the world's leading certification body for information and communications technology (ICT) professionals.

Celebrating 30 Years

The ICCP is celebrating over 30 years as the standard bearer for professionals in the computer industry. They have extended their efforts to promote the computer profession with a separate, independently operated non-profit education foundation. The ICCP Education Foundation was established to provide important educational programs and services to professionals, educators, the computer industry, government and the general public.
