teres major muscle and a continuation of thebrachial vein .Its tributaries include the
basilic vein andcephalic vein , which are bothsuperficial vein s. It terminates at the lateral margin of the firstrib , at which it becomes thesubclavian vein .It is accompanied along its course by a similarly named
artery , theaxillary artery .
