In May 2008 Mark announced his campaign for U.S. Senate as a Democrat. He went right to work raising money and launching a website, SessionIsASissy.com, he even appeared on the
Rick & Bubba Show. But after all the hard work, Mark was disappointed to find that he only raked in 25,000 votes. So eager to be elected Mark then announced he would run for U.S. Senate as an Independent. But in July 2008, he put the Senate Campaign on hold to run for Haleyville City Board of Education, place 4. But just three weeks later he withdrew from the BOE race, stating "I want to fully devote my finances and my support to my campaign for U.S. Senator." We will see in the election if he is elected Senator of if it will be just another failed attempt.Information Sources
