Beryl Wayne Sprinkel

Beryl Wayne Sprinkel (also Beryl Sprinkel, born on 1923 November 20 [http://www.nndb.com/people/818/000161335/ nndb.com] ] ) was a member of the Executive Office of the US President and chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors (CEA) between 1985 April 4 and 1989 January 21, [http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/reference/keyofficials.html reagan.utexas.edu] ] during the Reagan administration in the USA.

Education

In 1947 he was admitted Cref|a to the academic degree of BS (bachelor of science) in public administration at the University of Missouri. In 1948 he was admitted to the academic degree of MBA (master of business administration) at the University of Chicago, and the same university also admitted him to the degree of PhD (doctor of philosophy) in economics and finance in 1952.

Notes

*Cnote|a|in academic language people say "admitted to the degree of" because an academic degree is not something one can receive or get, it is not a paper, it is a degree of participation or recognition in the academic society and it is something that only the current professors can admit one to. Similarly one cannot be "admitted from the university" but only admitted to the university. An academic degree is a recognition by some people, so these people a person, ie they accept that person, to the degree. Only papers can be received and papers are not academic degrees.
